Lafayette Avionics History
Next to the purchase of an aircraft itself, avionics can be
one of the larger expenditures involved in owning an aircraft.
For this reason, it pays to be as particular about who
services your avionics equipment as it does to select the right
avionics for your needs.
Lafayette Avionics, Inc. is a full service Certified Repair Station
(Class III with a limited instrument rating), that can solve
your maintenance problems and help select the right avionics
for you. Our avionics shop grew out of an airline radio repair
station for Purdue Airlines in the early 1950's. We received
our repair station certificate (CRS 3041) in 1962. Ron and Josh
have a combined experience of more than 55 years. We are
devoted to excellence and customer satisfaction. Having serviced
and installed equipment in DC 9's, DC 6's, DC 3's, King Air's,
plus all kinds of general aviation, warbird, and experimental aircraft,
we feel we can provide the expertise needed to help you select
equipment for you particular aircraft. Ron is a pilot with extensive
experience in single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument flying.
He is also a 1969 Purdue graduate in Electrical Engineering. Ron is
Josh's father and has taught him everything he knows. Josh is also
a pilot. This background of engineering, flying, and service experience
combines to provide you with expert advice to update or engineer a
retrofit or a full avionics suite for your aircraft.
Lafayette Avionics represents most major avionics
manufacturers including: Garmin, Bendix/King, S-TEC, PS Engineering,
and many other lines too numerous to mention. We can answer your
questions, technical and otherwise, about any of these brands and
assist you in selecting the avionics package that is right for you. We
honor all factory warranties as well as guarantee our installation work
for as long as you own your aircraft.
